Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fall is so fun! There are many things about it that you might take for granted. One for me is having leaves to rake. Yes it is a drag and for those of you who have tons of trees in your yard and rake leaves up from September to June. I have fond and not so fond memories of raking when I was a kid. We didn't have a leaf blower. I think we were the only family on the block who did not have one. We raked our leaves by hand on to a tarp, or picked them up and smashed them into a big garbage can and carried or drug them to the curb. We had about 3/4 an acre and about 8 huge trees. My mom now says (now that she lives by herself and has a leaf blower/vacuum.) she has NO idea why we didn't have one back in the day. I do remember a few good times though. Being out side with the family in the crisp autumn air, and building huger leaf piles then running and jumping in them. Well now days my family and I live on a lot with 2 very small trees, most of our leaves just blow away. We do live behind a farm that has a big tree right on the edge of our property. This year a lot of its leaves fell in our yard so Jeff and the kids raked them up and played in them last night. I was really neat to see them jumping and running in the pile they raked up. They buried daddy too. I am glad for that tree and the few leaves it threw down because without it my kids would miss out on a great fall tradition. I am thankful however that we do not have those 8 trees like I did growing up, because our kids are not old enough to punish by raking the yard. . . Yet. Happy Fall Everyone!!

I just wanted to add a couple more pictures of our little Buckeyes. O~H!!! I~O!!!

As you may or may not know Jeff and I are crazy about OSU football. We try to make it to all of the Lakeshore home games and at least one NCAA game a season. This is a very special year for our team because they will most likely go undefeated and win the BCS Championship. But they got to play better they did last week at Illinois. Jeff and I took a day trip down to see Brutus and the gang. We had to take Sophia because I am her food supply so she goes where I go. I zipped her up in my coat and no one gave me a hard time. I wonder if they would have if they knew she was in there. I mean do you think they would have charged me for her to get in? There was a sign that I read briefly that stated that "Everyone regardless of age was required to have a ticket to enter the stadium." Hmmm. . . What do you think? Should I have to pay for my 6 week old fan? Jeff had to buy a ticket for Ethan at the Michigan State game. We have to pay for Hali at our high school games, but not Ethan or Sophie. Some people think that we just shouldn't take them, it's too cold, too late at night, they can't see over people, they don't care what is going on, and they couldn't possibly sit still and watch a football game for 2 &1/2 hours. . . Well our kids love the games. Hali will even watch football on TV. Sophia surely does not care about it but hey that shouldn't stop me from going. Lets face it everyone has an opinion, about little kids at football games, depending on weather age or whatever. As for our kids, the college games we attend, they will keep being the youngest fans there. GO BUCKEYES!!!
